Texas Hill Country

San Marcos River - Llano River - Blanco River - Medina River- Nueces River - Colorado River - San Saba River - Sabinal River - Frio River - Guadalupe River - South Llano River - Comal River

We have spent years exploring Texas Hill Country rivers. Armed with road maps, fly rods, and a canoe, we have floated, fished and learned the characteristics of the local rivers and fish. Currently, we guide on nearly 1,000 river miles. Our guiding range extends from the Colorado River west to the Devils River and from the San Marcos River up to the Llano River.

New Clients
We are looking for a few more regular clients. Typically, we take our first time clients down a familiar 5-6 mile stretch of river (San Marcos or Llano River) with good numbers of fish. It is here where we learn the angler's skill level and preferences. After getting comfortable with a familiar stretch of river, we then start to test our clients with other more remote stretches, two to three day packages, and more challenging fishing. We are not looking for fishing experts. We are looking for anglers who enjoy the outdoors and are willing to explore the exciting fishing that Texas has to offer.
It is our preference that each client has his or her own guide. We guide out of beautiful and stable Wenonah Canoes and we pride ourselves on the individual attention we give our clients. There are some cases however, when our clients do not need or want two guides. We are able to offer kayaks or pontoon boats along with a guide in a canoe to lead a party downstream.

The Llano River is one of the most popular rivers for fly fishing and light tackle anglers. We use canoes and light tackle to ply the depths of this beautiful and boulder strewn river. Our canoes allow us to stealthily access many of the fish holding coves that other craft cannot come close to. We target several warm water species, but for the most part we are looking to hook largemouth bass, and the Texas State Fish, the Guadalupe Bass. We also provide overnight trips, with the very best in camping equipment, and the very best in comfort.

The San Marcos River is the one river that we consider "our river." It was on this river where we perfected our paddling and fly fishing skills. We love this river due to the fact that it takes technical paddling and really good casting to be successful on this river. This river is full of several types of bass including the largemouth, smallmouth, Guadalupe Bass, and the meanest fish that swims, the Guadalupe/Smallmouth Hybrid. With our canoes, we can access the longer stretches that other guides do not get to.
